Sciatica Treatment in London
Sciatica is the Latin word for "pain down the leg" and occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes inflammed for any reason. The sciatic nerve starts in the lower back, runs through the buttock and down the back of the leg. The sciatica pain is variable and may range from mild and intermitent to severe and long standing, although it is rare that permanent nerve damage occurs.
There may also be numbness, weakness, pins and needles or tingling wth difficulty moving the leg on the side of the sciatica. A common cause of sciatica is inflammation from a degenerate or prolapsed intervertebral disc in the lower back and treating this underlying inflammation is a safe and effective form of therapy.
